Lunchmeat Festival “The fundamental part of each Lunchmeat Festival is an artistic residency during which a visualist prepares an innovative and one-of-a-kind concept for a musician’s performance. The fourth edition of Lunchmeat Festival saw the headlining performance of the cult Warp Records signee Clark with the residential visualist duo NOHlab, who created a spatial installation consisting of three clear 7 meters wide boxes. The result of their work wasn’t a classic mapping, but a huge semi-transparent holographic projection situated in front of Clark. ” Bellow the festival documentation, and the performance (after 7:00).

Synchronator
“Device that transforms your audio into a composite video signal, compatible with all video equipment supporting composite video input.
With 3 audio inputs and 1 video out, the SYNCHRONATOR device enables you to visualize your sounds on each of the primary color channels of the video signal.

“It adds video sync pulses and color coding signals to your audio, effectively disguising the input as a composite video signal.”

B C H I J “Audiovisual, experimental examination of the five biggest communities of faith: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism – taken as examples for religious groups. The piece is an audiovisual observation and an exploration. There is no right or wrong. It is a contemplation, seen from a neutral point of view.”
Markus Mehr and Sixt Sense.
Ultraviolet “Ultraviolet is an improvised performance audio / video. Brutal minimalism and low-fi aesthetic characterizes this singular proposition.” “Since their first collaborations, more “filmic”, the duo has always wondered about the possible coherence between sound and image. With Ultra-violet they create a “harmonious object” where the glass tube fluorescent, its cold color and its light impact logically, bind the textures and the timbre of an electric mixer with no input. The aim of this formal bias is to make sensitive and less ambiguous possible the interactions picture / sound.”

White box “A/V performance for a tryptic of HD video screens and quadraphonic audio. White Box is a work based on a new way of generating A/V compositions in real time and is a new piece in a cycle that began in 2003 with Black Box. This cycle metaphorically transposes, into sound and images, concepts from systems theory related to black, white and grey boxes.”

Chromophore
“A real-time audio-visual performance work that uses a bi-directional communication between audio and visual systems to create colour-shape-sound modalities.”

Paul Prudence Eff lux “During the piece, the visual information transforms from mechanical forms to linear movements. The music is played by computer recorded 15 differently tuned Steinway pianos. For composer it is like characters of the different weavers, which are knitting their own melodies, using the same pitches, but structures and lines of melodies all the time are in rotation. Melodies as the 15 pianos gather to one structure and sometimes their splits to 15 different lines. The tempo of the music during the piece becomes three times slowly. Music is based on minimalist composition technique and repeating loops.” By : Candas Sisman ( Visuals ) and Egidija Medeksaite (Music) More info here Project1111 “PROJECT 1111 is both an audio/visual piece and a live performance containing 4 sub-pieces (0001, 0010, 0100 and 1000) with a duration of 4 minutes for each. PROJECT 1111 is an exploration of randomness through sounds & visuals. Each source of sounds and visuals generated is based on chance. Then, the system controls more or less the chaos generated by these source to create an immersive A/V experience.” By Julian Bayle. More infor here. Dark, blurry electronic music and non-linear rhythms meld with hypnotic, abstract visuals, superimposed on a matrix of rods.

Connected via digital processing tools, analogue video and modular audio synthesizers generate a changing flow of abstraction. The result is a live immersive platform where real and artificial landscapes are transformed to the limits of recognition. ” By Sabrina Ratté (visuals) and [Noir] (sound) SJQ++ “In SjQ++, its visual image acts as a catalyst to make the ensemble interact. It visualizes the interactions of each player according to their sounds. The graphics are projected onto the performers’ body and/or behind them. “The system can treat the meaning of sound. For example, it connect the relations of each player through motions of the visualized sounds. In addition, it make each player cooperate/compete by using animation. A dynamic performance appears by control of an interaction flow like them. “ By : Yuta Uozumi (piano/computer), Tadashi Yonago, (trombone/computer),Isao Nakagaito(guitar), Shuhei Otani(bass), Wataru Asada(Drums) and Ryo Kanda (visual/computer).
